The Galena Lions Charities, a 501(c)(3) organization, welcomes cyclists to this year’s bicycling tour, the “Ride To See”. The tour consists of five routes between 15 and 100 miles in length. The routes take in the scenery of the heartland of Kent County, Maryland, historic towns,and great country stores. The 100 mile route offers scenic views of the Chesapeake Bay, historic homes, antique and gift shops and picturesque countryside.

ROUTE SELECTIONS

15 miles: Family Ride - View the 15 Mile Route

Designed for families with children.

30 miles: Casual Ride - View the 30 Mile Route

A scenic sampling of Kent County.

Loop to Chestertown, Worton and back to Galena

62.5 miles: Century Ride - View the 62.5 Mile Route

A classic 100 KM ride.

100 miles: Endurance Ride - View the 100 MIle Route

Complete tour of Kent County. This includes visits to the Sassafras River, the Chesapeake Bay, the Chester River, historic Chestertown, Rock Hall and Galena.

Routes shown above are the ones used in 2010. This year they may be changed slightly to accomodate current road conditions.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

DATE: Saturday, August 11, 2012 (Rain or Shine)

MEET: Galena Middle School, Rt. 313, 1/4 mile south of Traffic Light in Galena, MD (Refer to our Location Page for a Map).

TIME: Registration hours are 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Show & Go.

Rides end promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Last Sweep 5:00 p.m.

DONATION: $30.00. Fee includes map, marked route, sag wagon and five food stops (all blind riders may ride free).

INSTRUCTIONS:
Please check in at the registration desk when you start and finish the ride. We would like to be assured you had a safe tour.

Helmets required for all riders. The wearing of audio headsets is strictly prohibited.

Caution: Do not ride on US Rt.301

100% of the Profits go to the Lions Charitable Programs (i.e. Lions Vision Research, Pre-School Vision Screening, Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Elderly & College Scholarships)
